The European portal for energy efficiency and renewable energies in buildings (BUILD UP) has launched a survey examining the potential of industrialised (off-site) construction for the supply of affordable housing. The survey focuses on barriers, market dynamics, policies, and technology.

The consultation, open until 19 March 2025, is aimed at European citizens familiar with factory-made construction components that are assembled on-site.

This initiative seeks to assess the market potential of this construction method to enhance the affordable housing supply, expanding upon the the High Level Construction Forum (HLCF)’s research note on industrialised construction methods, conducted for the European Commission.
