The Bologna Institute for the Vocational Training of Construction Workers (IIPLE) held on 9 October an Information Day on industrialised construction through the Erasmus+ BuildOffSite project. The event took place at Saie, the Bologna Construction Fair.
One of the objectives of the event was to present the BuildOffSite project, and its results and progress so far. BuildOffSite, part of the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, aims to innovate vocational education and training (VET) in the construction sector to meet market needs and environmental challenges, with a focus on the industrialisation of construction and the re-skilling of the workforce.

The event gave participants the opportunity to deepen their understanding of key aspects such as: the analysis of industrialised building systems, the correlations between the skills required by the industrialised and traditional construction sectors, and the training needs to strengthen the training offer for the industrialised construction sector.
At the same time, the aim was to inform companies, trainers, vocational training centres, students and potential clients about the benefits of sustainable construction and the advantages of prefabrication in wood to face climate challenges and the ecological transition.
