The partners of the BuildOffsiteEU project have launched the 1st newsletter, aimed at training providers and centres, sector educators, construction workers, large companies, entrepreneurs, and SMEs in the construction industry. This edition introduces the project and serves as a communication channel to keep stakeholders informed about its progress in the (re)qualification of the construction workforce, facilitating the transition from traditional to industrialised construction.

This first issue highlights the kick-off meeting that took place in March 2023 in Bologna (Italy) at the Istituto Professionale Edile di Bologna (IIPLE). During the meeting, the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción presented the project’s objectives, expected outcomes, and its technical and financial monitoring strategy. Key aspects of the Quality Plan and the Analysis of Industrialised Construction Systems were also defined.

Additionally, the newsletter details the ongoing activities carried out by the Erasmus+ project partners. Currently, they are conducting interviews and expert working groups to analyse the main industrialised construction systems, their characteristics, advantages over traditional methods, and their impact on the circular economy and energy efficiency. The findings from this research will serve as the foundation for the development of digital factsheets on industrialised construction systems, providing a valuable resource for the sector.
